Qatar Chamber Discusses Trade Cooperation with Australia's State Government of Victoria

Doha, February 09 (QNA) - HE Chairman of Qatar Chamber Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohamed Al-Thani met on Monday with HE Member of Parliament, Minister for Economic Growth and Jobs, and Minister for Finance in Australia's State Government of Victoria Danny Pearson and his accompanying delegation, who are visiting.

The meeting was attended by HE Ambassador of Australia to Qatar Shane Flanagan and Director of International Relations and Chamber Affairs at Qatar Chamber and Secretary-General of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Qatar Sheikha Tamader Al-Thani.

The meeting explored ways to enhance cooperation between Qatar and the Australian State of Victoria's private sectors, particularly in technology, food security and infrastructure.

HE Chairman of Qatar Chamber Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohamed Al-Thani praised the distinguished bilateral commercial, economic, and investment relations and pointed to the many Australian companies operating in the Qatari market, either with full ownership or through partnerships with Qatari investors.

His Excellency affirmed Qatar Chamber's keenness to encourage Qatari investors to explore promising opportunities in the Australian State of Victoria, especially in education, tourism, and food security. 

For his part, HE Member of Parliament, Minister for Economic Growth and Jobs, and Minister for Finance in Australia's State Government of Victoria Danny Pearson lauded the strong bilateral ties and noted a significant interest in attracting Qatari investments to Victoria, which offers promising opportunities in real estate, food security, and tourism, inviting Qatari firms to benefit from these opportunities.

In turn, First Vice Chairman of Qatar Chamber Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari noted the vast investment opportunities for cooperation and partnership between the Qatari and Australian private sectors.
He invited Australian investors to expand their presence in the Qatari market and to benefit from its advanced infrastructure and the incentives provided for foreign investors.

The First Vice Chairman of Qatar Chamber emphasized Qatari investors' increasing eagerness to explore available investment opportunities across various sectors in Australia. (QNA)
