Jordan's King, Palestinian President Discuss Developments in Palestinian Territories
Amman, February 09 (QNA) - Jordan's King Abdullah II met in Amman on Monday with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to discuss the latest developments in the Palestinian territories.
During this meeting, King Abdullah stressed that Jordan calls out the unlawful measures that intend to consolidate the settlements and impose Israeli sovereignty over the West Bank, underlining that he unequivocally pushes back on any decisions that would violate the just and legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and the establishment of their independent state based on the two-state solution.
King Abdullah further called for the need to implement the second phase of the deal to end the war in Gaza and to ramp up the flow of relief aid without restrictions to prevent the catastrophic humanitarian situation.
For his part, Abbas warned against the dangerous Israeli decisions that aim to deepen annexation in the West Bank, expand settlements, and compromise the status of Hebron city and the Holy Ibrahimi Mosque.
He further cautioned against the consequences of these moves on the security and stability of the region, reaffirming the importance of initiating the implementation of the second phase of U.S. President Donald Trump's plan to stop the war in the Gaza Strip. (QNA)
