GCC Secretary-General Affirms Israeli Illegal Measures in West Bank Violate International Law
Riyadh, February 09 (QNA) - Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, affirmed that the illegal and unilateral measures being carried out by Israeli occupation forces to impose sovereignty over the occupied West Bank constitute a clear violation of international law, relevant UN resolutions, and existing agreements.
In a statement on Monday, the GCC Secretary-General strongly condemned the illegal decisions and actions announced by Israeli occupation forces in occupied West Bank, noting that they include attempts to impose unilateral facts that contradict the principles of international law and relevant international legitimacy resolutions.
Albudaiwi called on the international community to assume its legal responsibilities and take firm positions to halt these violations and ensure respect for international humanitarian law.
He also reiterated the GCC's steadfast position regarding the Palestinian people's right to establish an independent state on the borders of 4 June 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with UN resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative, and to achieve their aspirations to live with dignity and peace.
