Ministry of Justice Participates in Committee Meeting for Drafting Arab Guidance Project on Safe Use of Cyberspace
Beirut, February 04 (QNA) - The Ministry of Justice participated in the meeting of the committee tasked with drafting the Arab guidance project on the safe use of cyberspace, which concluded its work in Beirut. This participation was in preparation for presenting the draft Arab guidance project to the upcoming session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Justice.
The Ministry was represented at the meeting by Senior Legal Expert in the Legal Affairs Department, Ali Mohammed Naqadan.
The guidance project aims to govern the concept of cybersecurity and its applications within relevant institutions in Arab countries, protect critical infrastructure that relies on information technology, and raise public awareness about cybersecurity issues.
In developing the project, the committee took into account existing national legislation in a number of Arab countries, as well as several national Arab strategies for combating cybercrime.
The committee also drew on applicable laws from international experiences, including those of the European Union, in addition to specialized studies issued by a number of think tanks concerned with cybersecurity issues at both the regional and international levels. This approach has lent the draft a high degree of comprehensiveness and integration in addressing this vital and important issue for all Arab countries. (QNA)
