Doha, February 03 (QNA) - Qatar Research, Development, and Innovation (QRDI) Council has announced the winners of the Technology Development Grant (TDG) during the second day of Web Summit Qatar 2026.

The award recognizes companies conducting high-impact research and development projects aimed at developing new products, processes, or services, with total funding of QAR 20 million for the current cycle.

The TDG supports companies incorporated in Qatar, or international companies that establish a local entity, to undertake research and innovation projects with co-funding from QRDI Council, enabling the commercialization of advanced technologies and strengthening Qatar's research, development, and innovation (RDI) ecosystem.

The winners of this year's TDG are Sidra Medicine and Snoonu, representing a diverse range of sectors and demonstrating the ambition and technical capability driving Qatar's innovation agenda.

Secretary General of QRDI Council, Eng. Omar Ali Al Ansari,  said, "With the Technology Development Grant, QRDI Council is contributing to shaping the future of Qatar's innovation ecosystem. Supporting organizations like Snoonu and Sidra Medicine allows these entities to develop breakthrough solutions locally that address national priorities and scale globally.

"We look forward to seeing the outcomes of their work and the impact this grant will have in driving innovation, advancing research, and strengthening Qatar's position as a hub for science and technology."

The Technology Development Grant reflects QRDI Council's continued commitment to supporting applied research, enabling industry-led innovation, and translating advanced research into scalable, market-ready solutions that generate long-term economic and societal impact. (QNA)
