Doha, February 03 (QNA) - HE Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Mohammed bin Ali bin Mohammed Al Mannai, held a series of meetings with officials attending the Qatar Web Summit 2026 to discuss ways to strengthen international cooperation, exchange expertise, and pursue strategic partnerships in digital transformation and innovation.
The talks centered on artificial intelligence, cloud computing, digital infrastructure, and skills development, while also addressing global trends in emerging technologies and their applications in government.
The ministry participated in the summit through a joint pavilion with the Ministry of Sports and Youth, underscoring Qatar's commitment to supporting digital innovation and positioning itself as a regional hub for technology and entrepreneurship.
As part of the summit, the ministry signed six agreements and strategic partnerships with national and international entities. These included launching a healthcare sector roadmap in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health and an agreement with Oracle to expand the dedicated government cloud region and renew support contracts for 2025-2028.
Other agreements covered innovation accelerators, support for small and medium-sized enterprises, and the development of digital solutions across key sectors.
MCIT's participation reflects Qatar's efforts to advance digital entrepreneurship and accelerate the adoption of modern technologies, particularly AI and digital transformation, in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030 and the country's Digital Agenda 2030. (QNA)
