Minister of Commerce and Industry Meets Private Sector Representatives

Doha, February 26 (QNA) - HE Minister of Commerce and Industry, Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al-Thani, held a meeting Wednesday with representatives of the private sector from the Qatar Chamber and the Qatari Businessmen Association (QBA).

The meeting aimed to discuss the key challenges currently facing the private sector, explore practical solutions to address them, and review the latest developments in initiatives and projects related to enhancing the business environment in the State.

During the meeting, HE the Minister emphasized that the Ministry places great importance on strengthening the role of the private sector and enabling it to perform as an active partner in the country's economic development.

He noted that the meeting falls within the Ministry's efforts to expand direct engagement with the business community, understand their needs, and consider their proposals in a way that contributes to improving the overall business ecosystem.

The discussion covered several areas related to the Ministry's initiatives and projects aimed at developing the business environment, including streamlining procedures, updating legislative frameworks, and facilitating the ease of doing business, in line with economic growth requirements.

This meeting comes as part of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry's ongoing efforts to enhance economic competitiveness and reinforce public-private sector partnership, in alignment with the Third National Development Strategy and Qatar National Vision 2030, which aim to build a diversified and sustainable economy led by the private sector.
