Occupied Jerusalem, February 26 (QNA) - Some 35,000 worshipers performed the Isha and Taraweeh prayers at Al Aqsa Mosque Thursday, despite the restrictions and measures imposed by the Israeli occupation authorities on access to the Old City.
The Islamic Waqf Department in Jerusalem reported that thousands of citizens flocked to the mosque to perform the prayers in a spiritual atmosphere, while occupation forces were deployed at the gates of the Old City and around the mosque, checking the IDs of a number of young men and preventing some from entering.
Al Aqsa Mosque witnesses a large influx of worshipers during the holy month of Ramadan, amidst strict measures and restrictions on the entry of those coming from the West Bank, in addition to age restrictions imposed at certain times. (QNA)
