Amman, February 25 (QNA) - Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi discussed with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, during a phone call on Wednesday, ways to enhance cooperation between Jordan and the United Nations and its agencies, particularly regarding humanitarian efforts to deliver aid to the Gaza Strip and support refugees.
The two sides also reviewed regional developments, with a focus on the situation in the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank.
They underscored the importance of adhering to the ceasefire agreement and ensuring the full implementation of its provisions.
Safadi and Guterres stressed the need for intensified international efforts to guarantee the sufficient, sustained and unhindered delivery of humanitarian assistance to Gaza, emphasizing that achieving lasting stability requires a clear political horizon toward a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution.
They also highlighted the importance of coordinated regional and international efforts to support the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), enabling it to continue providing its vital services to Palestinian refugees. (QNA)
