Russia: Operation in Ukraine to Continue until Achieving Objectives, with Political Settlement Possible
Moscow, February 24 (QNA) - Russia has announced that its special military operation in Ukraine will continue until the operation's objectives are met.
Despite that, Moscow remains open to achieving its goals through political and diplomatic means, said Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov.
Four years ago, the operation's primary objective was to ensure the safety of people in eastern Ukraine, he added, however in practice, the operation evolved into a direct confrontation between Russia and Western nations, following the direct intervention of Western European countries and the United States in the conflict.
Peskov said that since the start of the crisis, many efforts have been made to resolve it, yet to no success.
The Russian Presidential Press Secretary pointed out that the exact timing of the new round of negotiations regarding Ukraine has not yet been determined. (QNA)
