Qatar Charity Launches Iftar for Fasting Project in Ghana and Cote d'Ivoire
Doha, February 23 (QNA) - Qatar Charity's offices in Ghana and Cote d'Ivoire have launched the Iftar for the Fasting project, distributing 100,000 hot iftar meals to needy families, sponsored individuals, and the most vulnerable groups in the two countries, as part of the Ramadan campaign "Good Starts With You".
In a statement, Qatar Charity indicated that its field teams in Ghana began distributing the hot Ramadan meals across many centers in the largest Ghanaian cities the capital Accra, and the cities of Kumasi, Tamale, and Wa in northern Ghana.
Director of Qatar Charity in Ghana and Cote d'Ivoire Hassan Ouda revealed that the number of beneficiaries of the Iftar for the Fasting project exceeds 100,000. He said that Qatar Charity organizes regular group iftars at one of the community centers in Abidjan, where a communal iftar is held for local residents to enhance the spirit of faith, brotherhood, and social cohesion. The event is attended by orphan families, people with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups.
He noted that work is also underway to organize communal iftars in the city of Eugenie in northern Cote d'Ivoire.
Additionally, Qatar Charity teams distribute daily iftar meals at mosques built by the organization and hold daily group iftars for Muslims at boarding schools and Qur'an memorization centers. This year, the project will be implemented in four major cities in Ghana, benefiting fasting Muslims from low-income families across the country, in coordination with the Department of Religious Affairs.
