Qatar Participates in Nature-Based Solutions Training Course at Arab League HQ
Doha, February 19 (QNA) – The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC), represented by the Wildlife Development Department, has participated in a specialized training course on nature-based solutions at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo.
The course was held in cooperation and coordination with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and included the participation of a number of experts and specialists.
The Ministry was represented at the course by Director of the Wildlife Development Department Khalid Juma Al Muhannadi.
The course focused on strengthening institutional capacities and developing scientific and applied knowledge related to nature-based solutions, as well as ways to utilize them in the areas of biodiversity conservation, adaptation to the effects of climate change, and the sustainable management of natural resources.
This contributes to supporting environmental policies and achieving sustainability goals.
This participation is part of the Ministry's efforts to keep pace with international best practices, develop the competencies of its national staff, and enhance initiatives related to wildlife protection and the preservation of ecosystems, in line with the State's vision for sustainable environmental development.
