Dollar Eases as Yen Firm on Japan Equity Rally
Singapore, February 11 (QNA) - The US dollar weakened on Wednesday, while the Japanese yen maintained its recent gains, buoyed by a rally in Japanese equities and investor expectations that Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's landslide victory would bolster her fiscal policy agenda.
The yen rose 0.1% to 154.22 per dollar, extending gains from the previous session when it climbed around 1% and advanced against other major currencies.
The euro edged up 0.04% to $1.1899, while the pound sterling firmed to $1.3646.
The dollar index, which tracks the US currency against a basket of major peers, slipped 0.12% to 96.80. (QNA)
