Qatar's Al Aafya Health Channel Joins Ooredoo TV Network
Doha, November 04 (QNA) - Qatar's Al Aafya health channel has announced that it is joining the Ooredoo TV network, in a move that will expand its reach and make its content more widely accessible to households in Qatar and beyond.
HE Dr. Abdulrahman bin Salem Al Kuwari, former minister of health and the channel's founder and director-general, told Qatar News Agency (QNA) that the move marked an important milestone for Qatar's health media landscape, helping viewers and the wider public access reliable and accurate health information.
He noted that Al Aafya is the first channel of its kind in the Gulf region. As part of its health awareness mission, it will offer a range of educational, awareness-raising and advisory programmes through its television channel and various social media platforms.
Dr. Al Kuwari emphasized that the integration would not only broaden the dissemination of health information but also enhance its credibility and accessibility. He stressed that health media plays a broader role than just sharing information—it helps guide people toward better preventive practices, informed health decisions, and behavioral change to promote wellness and well-being. In this way, the channel serves as a key partner and a genuine addition to Qatar's media landscape in advancing health awareness and meaningful content.
Dr. Al Kuwari launched Al Aafya on July 2 as the Gulf's first dedicated health TV channel. Designed as a specialized health media platform, it aims to spread evidence-based health culture, translate medical knowledge into accessible messages, and promote prevention and improved quality of life through simplified language that resonates with the widest possible audience—ultimately turning scientific information into everyday practice to enhance human health.
