Doha, November 04 (QNA) - The Qatar Chess Federation, in cooperation with the Romanian and Spanish embassies in Qatar, organized a diplomatic chess gathering to strengthen ties with diplomatic missions and bring together representatives of different nationalities in a social and sporting event.
The initiative aimed to provide diplomats with an opportunity to meet, interact and participate in a shared sporting activity in a friendly atmosphere beyond formal competition.
Qatar Chess Federation President Mohammed Al Mudahka said the gathering reflected the federation's commitment to building bridges with embassies and diplomatic missions and using chess to promote cultural and human interaction.
He added that the initiative went beyond competitive sport, providing an opportunity to exchange experiences and strengthen friendships among different nationalities. 
The federation, he said, would continue organizing such events to promote chess and reinforce its role as a bridge between cultures. (QNA)
