Cairo, November 03 (QNA) - The Qatar Media Corporation (QMC) participated in the 105th ordinary session of the Permanent Committee for Arab Media, held today at the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo, with the participation of representatives from Arab nations and relevant media organizations.

Director of the International Cooperation and Agreements Office at QMC, Abdullah Ghanem Al Mohannadi led the Corporation's delegation to the session.

During the meeting, the Qatar Media Corporation presented a paper on the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into Arab media and its impact on the human workforce. This was part of the session's broader focus on utilizing AI technologies within the media sector to enhance media performance and strengthen its role in supporting Arab causes.

The session addressed several topics, including the promotion of joint Arab media action, the development of the Arab media ecosystem, and keeping pace with digital and technological transformations. Discussions also covered strategies to counter rumors and misinformation, enhancing the presence of Arab media on the international stage, and addressing priority issues, primarily the Palestinian cause, as well as fostering cooperation among Arab media institutions.

The meeting of the Permanent Committee for Arab Media precedes the 56th session of the Council of Arab Information Ministers, held at the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo. The session will address various draft resolutions and recommendations aimed at advancing joint Arab media cooperation. It will also discuss the selection of Doha as the "Capital of Arab Media" for 2027, in preparation for the formal presentation of the title to the State of Qatar during a meeting scheduled for the end of this month.

The participation of the Qatar Media Corporation reflects the State of Qatar's commitment to supporting joint Arab media efforts, fostering cooperation and coordination among Arab media institutions, and facilitating the exchange of expertise and experience, all in line with the rapid developments within the media industry.

At the conclusion of its 55th ordinary session, held on November 26, 2025, at the General Secretariat of the Arab League in Cairo, the Council of Arab Information Ministers decided to designate Doha as the "Capital of Arab Media" for 2027. (QNA)
