Palestinian Commission Warns of Dire Conditions for Ailing Prisoners in Israeli Jails
Ramallah, November 01 (QNA) - Several ailing Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails are grappling with dire health conditions amid continued medical neglect and the failure to provide the necessary healthcare and treatment for their illnesses, the Palestinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs warned.
In a statement Sunday, the commission said conditions inside Gilboa Prison had shown no improvement and remained unchanged, as inmates had not received medications, triggering consternation over the fallout from the persistent denial of appropriate medical care and the potential for their health conditions to deteriorate further.
At Negev Prison, the commission said several prisoners suffering from various illnesses had experienced a deterioration in their health conditions over the past several days.
The commission stressed that the continuation of these conditions, amid the lack of essential medical care, further exacerbates the suffering of sick prisoners and exposes their lives and health to mounting risks.
It underscored the urgent need to provide them with the necessary treatment and medical examinations without delay. (QNA)
