Rome, October 09 (QNA) - Inter Milan will face Parma on Saturday in the sixth round of the Italian Serie A football league, amid intense competition for the top spot.

Inter Milan enter the match aiming to move to the top of the standings, currently sitting second with 13 points, level with leaders Roma, who are ahead on goal difference, and third-placed Lazio. Inter have recorded four wins and one draw in their opening five matches, scoring 15 goals and conceding eight.

The team will look to capitalize on home advantage and the support of their fans to secure their fifth victory of the season and maintain their challenge for the top spot, particularly following their strong attacking start to the campaign.

Meanwhile, Parma enter the match in 15th place with four points, having recorded one win, one draw and three defeats. They will be hoping for a positive result to increase their points tally and improve their position in the standings.

For their part, league leaders Roma face an important away test against Como on Sunday, seeking to consolidate their position at the top and extend their lead over Inter Milan. Eighth-placed Como, meanwhile, will aim to make the most of home advantage and narrow the gap to the leading teams.

Third-placed Lazio, also on 13 points, will visit Monza on the same day, targeting all three points to maintain their position among the frontrunners. Monza, who sit 16th with four points, will be looking for a positive result to improve their chances of climbing the table.

In another fixture, sixth-placed Juventus, with 10 points, travel to fourth-placed Cagliari, who have 12 points, in a match in which both teams will seek to strengthen their positions near the top of the standings.

Lecce will face Bologna in a match in which both sides aim to improve their results, with Lecce on six points and Bologna on two.

AC Milan will also travel to Sassuolo, hoping to continue their positive results and strengthen their position among the leading teams. Milan occupy fifth place with 11 points, while Sassuolo are 10th with seven points and will be seeking a positive result against one of Italy's leading clubs.

In the remaining sixth-round fixtures, Napoli face Frosinone and Genoa take on Fiorentina on Saturday, while Torino meet Udinese on Sunday. The round will conclude on Monday with Atalanta facing Venezia. (QNA)
