Jordanian, Saudi Foreign Ministers Discuss Regional De-escalation Efforts
Amman, October 06 (QNA) - Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah discussed regional developments in a phone call on Tuesday.
According to a statement issued by the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two ministers discussed efforts exerted to end the dangerous escalation witnessed in the region and to establish permanent security and stability, expressing mutual support for these efforts.
During the call, Safadi affirmed Jordan's absolute solidarity with Saudi Arabia in confronting attacks by the Houthi group, stating that Amman stands unreservedly with Riyadh in all measures it takes to protect its security, stability, sovereignty, and the safety of its citizens.
He reiterated Jordan's condemnation of Houthi attacks against Saudi Arabia, including attempts to target Makkah Al Mukarramah and Medina, as well as ongoing strikes on civilian and economic facilities.
Furthermore, Safadi reaffirmed Jordan's support for Yemeni legitimacy, emphasizing the necessity of resolving the Yemeni crisis by ensuring the restoration of security and stability in Yemen, protecting its unity, sovereignty, and resources, and fulfilling the aspirations of the Yemeni people in accordance with approved references.
