Wifaq Center Organizes Exhibition to Promote Family Cohesion
Doha, October 03 (QNA) - The Family Consulting Center (Wifaq), part of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, is hosting an art-based awareness exhibition titled 'Rawabit (bonds): Visual stories strengthening family ties'.
Running through tomorrow, the exhibition blends art with family-focused awareness to convey the concept of family cohesion through a visual language that resonates with the public. It highlights the values and everyday practices that help build stronger, more stable family relationships.
Wifaq emphasized that the exhibition aligns with its vision of using creative and innovative tools to raise family awareness. By harnessing art's ability to evoke emotion, stimulate thought, and open avenues for dialogue, the exhibition brings family issues closer to people and their everyday lives.
The Center said the exhibition features a collection of artworks offering diverse artistic perspectives on family life and cohesion. The works explore themes including dialogue, active listening, emotional support, mutual respect, parent-child relationships, security and belonging, and the importance of spending time together.
Through these works, the exhibition underscores that family cohesion is not forged in a single moment; rather, it is built through positive choices and practices repeated in daily life.
The Center noted that the participating artworks explore various facets of family bonding. Some show how parental presence and emotional support instill confidence and a sense of security in children. Others address the complementary roles of fathers and mothers; the importance of love, dialogue, and mutual respect between spouses; and the role of communication and cooperation in creating a safe, stable family environment. Additional works portray the family as a source of security, belonging, and support, while emphasizing the value of shared moments and values in strengthening cohesion and creating lasting family memories.
The Center added that the exhibition pays particular attention to young people and those preparing for marriage. It introduces awareness and preparatory programs tailored to this group, emphasizing the importance of premarital preparation in equipping young people with the knowledge and skills needed to understand the demands of martial life and establish communication and mutual understanding from the outset. Accompanying materials likewise highlight the skills required to build a stable and successful marriage. The Rawabit exhibition also offers interactive experiences that encourage visitors to reflect on the bonds within their own families.
The exhibition reflects the Center's commitment to diversifying its community outreach and presenting family-oriented messages through innovative approaches that go beyond traditional formats. Rawabit uses art as a space for reflection and dialogue, transforming family-focused information into an immersive experience that enables visitors to engage with the content and connect it to their own circumstances and relationships.
The exhibition also gives Wifaq an opportunity to engage directly with the public, showcase its role, and introduce its family and counseling services. By highlighting the awareness programs and activities available across different stages of family life, it promotes a culture of early engagement with specialized services and programs - moving beyond the view that family counseling is sought only when problems or disputes arise.
