MoPH, WHO Organize STAR Capacity-Building Workshop in Preparation for Developing National Health Risk Profile
Doha, October 28 (QNA) - The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), organized a capacity-building workshop on using the Strategic Tool for Assessing Risks (STAR) to strengthen health emergency preparedness.
The workshop aimed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills required to apply the Strategic Tool for Assessing Risks through training sessions and practical simulation exercises. These sessions covered identifying priority health risks and analyzing their likelihood and potential impacts, supporting risk-based planning and evidence-informed decision-making, and preparing participants to contribute to the development of the National Health Risk Profile.
Representatives of health authorities, government entities and relevant national partners involved in risk and emergency management participated in the workshop. This strengthened multisectoral participation and coordination in assessing national health risks.
The workshop serves as a preparatory phase for the national workshop scheduled for next November to develop the National Health Risk Profile. This phase builds on the outcomes of the national workshops organized by the MoPH in 2022 and 2024, with the participation of relevant entities, to update national health-risk priorities in line with current developments and challenges and strengthen preparedness and response planning for health emergencies and disasters.
