Doha, October 27 (QNA) - Participants in two panel discussions held as part of the fourth Qatar Real Estate Forum affirmed that Qatar has invested effectively in the real estate sector and in preparing for the future.

Speaking at a panel discussion, Director of Licensing and Training Affairs at the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (Aqarat) Eng. Mubarak Al Nuaimi said Qatar's real estate sector was growing steadily, as reflected in recorded growth in sales and investment.

Regarding real estate residency in Qatar, Al Nuaimi said the authority had received numerous applications from around the world from people seeking to benefit from the service, highlighting the need to provide clear information about its benefits.

He expected the development of the real estate incentives system to help Qatar achieve leading global rankings in the sector.

He explained that, in recent years, Qatar had worked to regulate the sector by establishing an attractive framework, introducing clear legislation and assigning oversight responsibilities to Aqarat.

Al Nuaimi highlighted Qatar's competitive advantages in real estate, including excellent infrastructure, quality education, advanced healthcare and security.

He stressed the importance of encouraging domestic investment in the sector, noting that cooperation with real estate developers had helped provide property products suited to different segments of society. Work was also under way with banks to develop solutions offering greater credit facilities for real estate financing.

On the use of artificial intelligence, Al Nuaimi said efforts were under way to enable investors inside and outside Qatar to invest in real estate easily through AI-powered tools, stressing that success in today's property market increasingly required the use of such technology.

For her part, CEO of Real Estate of the Future Nikki Greenberg said Qatar had already invested in the key foundations needed to prepare for the future and was making notable progress in technology.

Greenberg said the emergence of autonomous vehicles, service robots and AI-powered operations signaled a new technological era, adding that Qatar was already laying the foundations to prepare for it.

She highlighted Qatar National Vision 2030 as the overarching strategic framework for long-term human, social, economic and environmental development.

She also cited the Smart Qatar program as translating these ambitions into a national transition towards a smart state, supported by advanced digital infrastructure.

Greenberg said the focus had shifted towards cities planned through an integrated vision, combining interconnected infrastructure, urban services and platforms capable of accommodating future commercial and residential activities.

Such cities already existed in Qatar, where smart systems were deployed across entire urban areas.

She added that Qatar National Vision 2030 had outlined the country's direction through its four pillars, while the infrastructure now in place, including reliable energy, advanced telecommunications networks, fibreoptic connectivity, data centers, transport networks and logistics services, represented their practical implementation.

These foundations, she said, were essential for modern economies to function and future industries to grow. Greenberg cited the National Museum of Qatar as an exceptional and ambitious project reflecting future aspirations through its striking architecture, meticulous details and high-quality spaces.

She stressed that its significance extended beyond architectural excellence to the vision behind it and the willingness to make bold decisions reflecting ambitions beyond the present.

Greenberg concluded that investment decisions, including where to invest, which sectors to target and which projects to launch, required a forward-looking perspective, recognizing that the goal was not merely to address the present but to build the foundations for the next phase. (QNA)
