Montreal, October 25 (QNA) - The State of Qatar participated in the second meeting of the Steering Group for the 14th cycle of the Committee on Aviation Environmental Protection (CAEP/14), operating under the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), held in Montreal, Canada.

Qatar was represented at the meeting by a delegation from the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA), alongside several national entities, including QatarEnergy and Qatar Airways.

The meeting addressed progress on the Committee's work program, covering areas such as emissions and noise standards, sustainable aviation fuels (SAF), and the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA), as well as international efforts toward achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.

The participation of the Civil Aviation Authority aligns with its ongoing efforts to contribute to the development of international environmental policies and standards for the aviation sector, in a manner that safeguards national interests and supports the State's commitment to sustainability.
