Ramallah, October 24 (QNA) - The Palestinian government on Saturday warned that Israel's relentless escalation in the West Bank, most recently in Hebron, is turning the occupied territory into a tinderbox, with Palestinians facing what it described as a systematic campaign of collective punishment.

In a statement, government said Israel's actions include the forced displacement of entire neighborhoods, the razing of homes and other structures, and the siege of Palestinian cities.

It described these actions as part of a systematic policy pursued across the West Bank and Gaza Strip, noting that more than 40,000 Palestinians have been forced from their homes since early 2025. Refugee camps and cities in the northern West Bank continue to grapple with the fallout of displacement and demolition, it added.

Branding Israel’s escalation as an act of aggression against the Palestinian people, their land and their resources, the government held Israel fully responsible and called for immediate international intervention to halt further crimes in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

The government warned that Israeli escalation, which has spilled over into all Palestinian governorates, would bring neither security nor peace, but could leave the region aflame with further violence. It reaffirmed that Palestinians would remain resilient, holding fast to their land, holy sites and inalienable historical rights. (QNA)
