Arab and Islamic Organizations Condemn Attack on Power Station Serving Prophet's Mosque
Capitals, October 02 (QNA) - Arab and Islamic organizations have condemned a Houthi attack targeting a power distribution station serving the Prophet's Mosque in Saudi Arabia's holy city of Medina.
The Arab League said in a statement that targeting a vital civilian facility in a city of major religious significance to Muslims, particularly one serving one of Islam's holiest sites, was an unacceptable disregard for the sanctity of holy places and the safety of civilian infrastructure.
The organization said the attack also constituted a provocation to Muslims around the world and reaffirmed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia in the face of attacks targeting its security, stability and sovereignty, as well as the safety of its citizens and residents.
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) also strongly condemned the attack, describing the targeting of vital civilian facilities in Medina as a dangerous escalation and a flagrant violation of the sanctity of holy sites and international and humanitarian laws and norms.
The OIC reaffirmed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its support for measures taken by the kingdom to protect its territory and maintain its security and stability, as well as to safeguard Islamic holy sites and the safety of those living in the country.
The Muslim World League strongly condemned the attack on the Medina power station and reiterated its support for Saudi Arabia and measures taken to deter attacks and protect the sanctity of Islamic holy sites and the lives of Muslims.
The General Secretariat of the Arab Interior Ministers Council also condemned the attack, reaffirming its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and support for measures taken to protect Islamic holy sites. (QNA)
