Doha, January 27 (QNA) - Winners of the third edition of the Arab Book Award affirmed that the award has become a well-established scientific and cultural platform for supporting serious research, encouraging rigorous intellectual projects, and enhancing the presence of Arab books in various fields of knowledge, while praising the State of Qatar's efforts in supporting culture and knowledge throughout the Arab world.
In remarks to Qatar News Agency (QNA), they said that the award serves as a genuine incentive for researchers and authors, especially young ones, to strive for methodological excellence and responsible knowledge production. The award does not merely honor individual books, but extends beyond that to recognize integrated intellectual projects and cumulative scientific achievements, reflect a clear vision for supporting high-quality research, restore the prestige of the printed book, and solidify its role as a fundamental vessel of knowledge and cultural identity.
Dr. Mohammed Al Mesfer, a professor at Qatar University and one of the winners in the Individual Achievement category, stated that the award contributes to strengthening the position of Arab books both regionally and internationally, and encourages the honored to continue producing works that enrich knowledge and culture. He emphasized that winning this award is not an end, but rather a new beginning for continued creativity, fostering cultural dialogue, and bringing Arab books to the widest possible audience.
He pointed out that the award represents the beginning of a new path in his intellectual journey, and is not a final destination, expressing his aspiration to make deeper contributions in the next stage, in a way that serves knowledge and scientific research.
Dr. Ahmed Sanoubar, a Jordanian researcher and professor at the College of Sharia at Qatar University, who won second place in the Islamic Studies category, affirmed that the award represents a reputable academic platform that encourages serious studies, particularly modern research in the field of Islamic Studies, especially given its integrity and clear criteria.
He stated that the award sends an important message to researchers, especially young researchers, that mastering scientific research and adhering to rigorous methodology opens broad horizons for academic recognition and gives researchers a genuine opportunity to see the impact of their work in serving knowledge and the Muslim community. He noted that the award's support for this type of research encourages hundreds of researchers in the Islamic world to develop their research and present it with confidence.
For his part, Dr. Muqbil Al Tam Al Ahmadi, winner of the Arab Book Award in the individual achievement category, said that the award represents a tribute to integrated intellectual projects and long-standing scholarly journeys based on research, investigation, authorship, and continuous work.
Al Ahmadi said that the achievement category does not celebrate a single book, but rather honors an entire intellectual career and its accumulated scholarly output and intellectual effort. He noted that this type of recognition gives researchers further incentives and motivation to continue their contributions.
Nawal Amhajour, Director of Dar Al Ihyaa Publishing and Distribution from Morocco and winner in the field of institutional achievement, affirmed that participation in the Arab Book Award represents an important appreciation of the efforts made in the field of cultural publishing, and reflects the status of the paper book as a knowledge medium that still reigns supreme among cultural, educational, scientific and creative media.
She added that this award holds great moral value for the publishing house, especially since it is still in its early years, as it has not yet completed its fifth year, but during this short period it has been able to accumulate a considerable number of titles and attract serious and active writers in the Moroccan and Arab cultural scene.
