Abu Dhabi, January 25 (QNA) - Al Ahli claimed the Challenge Cup title after defeating hosts Al Jazira of the United Arab Emirates 4-3 on penalties, following a 1-1 draw in regulation time on Sunday at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in the Qatar-UAE Super Cup.

Germany international Julian Draxler scored a stoppage-time equalizer for Al Ahli in the third minute of added time, while Vinicius Mello had given Al Jazira the lead in the 48th minute.

Al Ahli prevailed 4-3 in the shootout, securing the title in their first appearance in the competition. (QNA)
