Qatar Tourism Chairman Emphasizes Importance of Tourism in Fostering Global Cooperation

Davos, January 22 (QNA) - HE Chairman of Qatar Tourism and Chairman of the Board of Visit Qatar Saad bin Ali Al Kharji, participated in the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2026 in Davos, Switzerland. He joined a high-level panel discussion hosted by the Financial Times at the Invest in Qatar pavilion, which addressed the future of global tourism and its role in shaping economic and social progress.

During the session, HE Al Kharji emphasized the growing importance of tourism as an engine for international cooperation, innovation, and sustainable development in the evolving global landscape.

His Excellency stated: "In a world increasingly uncertain, the tourism sector continues to play a vital role in fostering cooperation, openness, and innovation. As destinations adapt to rapid economic and technological changes, tourism remains a pillar of connectivity, cultural exchange, and sustainable growth."

He added, "The State of Qatar's approach is based on a long-term vision aimed at strengthening international partnerships, driving economic diversification, and leveraging innovation to deliver meaningful and future-proof visitor experiences."

His Excellency the Chairman of Qatar Tourism also highlighted Qatar's vision for tourism development, which is based on strategic partnerships, digital transformation, and sustainable growth, thus solidifying the sector's position as a key contributor to national economic diversification and enhancing its global presence.
