Tunis, January 17 (QNA) - For the first time in their history, Qatar Police team captured the title of the 44th Arab Clubs Men's Volleyball Championship held in Tunisia with the participation of 11 clubs after edging out Tunisia's Etoile Sportive du Sahel in the final by three sets to one.

The four sets concluded with results of 25‑20, 24‑26, 25‑22, and 25‑21 in favor of Police team, making it the second Qatari squad to secure the Arab title following Al Rayyan, which had previously won in 2018, 2019, and 2022

The team took a victory lap in their third consecutive attempt to clinch the Arab title with full merit after finishing third and fourth in the previous editions of 2024 and 2025

Despite a suboptimal start in the group stage, finishing fourth in Group B, the team delivered strong performances in the knockout rounds, eliminating Espérance Sportive de Tunis, the leaders of Group A, in the quarterfinals before overcoming Libya’s Al Suwaheely in the semifinals

Following the final, Police team were awarded the championship trophy and gold medals, while Étoile Sportive du Sahel received the silver medal, with Al‑Muharraq SC of Bahrain taking home the bronze

In the third-place match, Al‑Muharraq SC defeated Al Suwaheely SC 3-0 with set scores of 25‑23, 25‑33, and 25‑21, securing the third position and leaving the Libyan side fourth

The fifth place went to Espérance Sportive de Tunis, which triumphed 3-2 over Qatar SC, which settled for sixth as part of the classification matches from fifth to eleventh

Al Ittihad SC of Libya claimed seventh place, defeating Al Seeb SC of Oman, who finished eighth

Tajnant SC of Algeria secured ninth place after a 3-1 victory over Majees SC of Oman, which ranked tenth, while Palestinian Forces Club concluded in eleventh after losing 3-0 to Tajnant

Previously, Al Ahly SC of Egypt had won the championship in Cairo in 2023, Al Suwaheely SC of Libya in 2024, and Zamalek SC of Egypt in the 2025 edition after defeating Al Ahly in the final

The 11 participating clubs were divided into two groups, with Group A including Qatar SC, Al Seeb SC of Oman, Al Suwaheely SC of Libya, Esperance Sportive de Tunis of Tunisia, Tajnant SC of Algeria, and Group B including Police team of Qatar, Majees SC of Oman, Al‑Muharraq SC of Bahrain, Étoile Sportive du Sahel of Tunisia, Al Ittihad SC of Libya, Palestinian Forces Club.
