Doha, January 15 (QNA) - Al Duhail secured a 2–0 victory over Al Wakrah on Thursday at Saud bin Abdulrahman Stadium, opening the 13th round of the Qatar Stars League (Doha Bank Stars League 2025–26).

Algerian winger Adel Boulbina put Al Duhail ahead from the penalty spot in the 64th minute, before Marco Verratti sealed the win with a close-range finish in the 83rd minute.

The match was largely subdued in the first half, with few clear chances for either side. Al Duhail stepped up the pressure after the break, hitting the post through Krzysztof Piatek before being rewarded with the opening goal.

The win lifts Al Duhail to 19 points in sixth place, while Al Wakrah remain on 16 points in eighth, pending the rest of the round's fixtures. (QNA)
