Doha, January 14 (QNA) - Qatar Stars League side Al Shamal have announced the departure of Moroccan midfielder Younes Belhanda, thanking him for his contributions during his time with the club.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Al Shamal said Belhanda delivered strong performances that helped the team achieve a number of positive results. The former Morocco international joined the club in January 2024 on a one-season deal, which was later extended for an additional season.

The club also confirmed the signing of Algerian international Adam Ounas on a free transfer. Ounas will join the first team for six months, starting from the current winter transfer window.

Earlier in the day, Al Shamal announced the signing of midfielder Mohammed Waad from Al Sadd on loan, also effective during the winter transfer period.

Al Shamal currently sit fourth in the Qatar Stars League standings, known as the Doha Bank Stars League, with 21 points. (QNA)
