Doha, September 18 (QNA) - The Statistical and Data Training Center at the National Planning Council (NPC), in cooperation with Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF), has concluded a specialized training program entitled "Economic Statistics for Managers: From Data to Decisions."

The program, held at QF headquarters, was part of national efforts to enhance government efficiency and advance knowledge-based sustainable development.

This program is part of a series of initiatives organized by the Center to build national capacity. It aimed to qualify government leaders in economic fields, empowering them to effectively utilize data and statistics to impact public policies.

The program focused on developing skills for using data efficiently as a fundamental element in improving institutional performance and enhancing decision-making effectiveness. It is also a significant step towards qualifying national cadres and developing their capabilities in statistical leadership, as well as building integrated, collaborative systems for data exchange among various entities.

The program emphasized the importance of building trust in government data as a cornerstone for ensuring effective governance. It also highlighted the pivotal role of integration and data exchange between institutions, and encouraged the adoption of modern tools and techniques in future planning. This reinforces the concept of leadership empowerment in the field of data, which enables leaders to support national decisions with accurate and reliable information.

This intensive six-day program covered several key themes, including: fundamentals of data and statistics, national statistical system, statistical literacy for executive leaders, data integration and ethics, statistical data management, strategic leadership, and roadmap design.

Commenting on the conclusion of the program, Director of the Statistical and Data Training Center at NPC Hessa Ali Al Malki said: "This program is an important step in building the capacities of national leaders in data and economic statistics. Organizing the program with Qatar Foundation strengthens our partnerships with the country's leading academic institutions, providing specialized professional programs that enable national cadres to optimally benefit from trainings.

Aligned with the Third National Development Strategy, the final phase of Qatar National Vision 2030, we are committed to adopting global best practices in training and providing a practical environment that enables participants to develop skills that contribute to enhancing work efficiency nationwide."

Director of Talent Management at QF Sheikha Ghalia Al-Thani said that: "The Department of Talent Management is proud to partner with the NPC in organizing the Program 'Economic Statistics for Managers: From Data to Decisions'. This initiative is part of our strategic cooperation with national institutions, reflecting QF's steadfast commitment to enhancing national capabilities through knowledge exchange and leadership development across various sectors."

She added that "The program aims to develop leadership capabilities in data-driven strategy formulation and evidence-based planning, contributing to the achievement of Qatar's long-term national goals. It also develops analytical and statistical competencies, enabling leaders to make data-driven decisions, keeping pace with the growing importance of data in our current era."
