Baghdad, September 18 (QNA) - Iraq and Lebanon have inked a comprehensive cooperation agreement along with seven memoranda of understanding (MoUs) on Thursday, in a bid to foster bilateral trade and investment.

The agreements were finalized during the second session of the Iraqi-Lebanese Joint Committee, held over two days in Baghdad.

The session was co-chaired by Iraqi Minister of Trade Atheer Daoud Al Ghurairi and Lebanese Minister of Economy and Trade Amer Bisat, and attended by representatives from the private sectors of both countries.

The signed MoUs cover a wide range of sectors, including trade exchange development, export promotion, collaboration in organizing international and specialized exhibitions, land transport of passengers and goods, investment, and mutual recognition of maritime competency certificates for seafarers.

Following the signing, both ministers emphasized their countries' commitment to building a genuine partnership based on mutual interests. (QNA)
