Qatar to Face Romania Tomorrow in FIVB World Championship
Manila, September 16 (QNA) - The Qatar men's national volleyball team will face Romania on Wednesday in their third and final match of the group stage at the 2025 FIVB Men's Volleyball World Championship, currently being held in the Philippines and running through Sept. 28, with 23 teams taking part.
The Qatari team aims to deliver a strong performance and bounce back from its previous two losses, against the Netherlands, 3-1, and Poland, 3-0.
This marks Qatar’s second appearance in the Volleyball World Championship, following its debut in the 2022 edition co-hosted by Poland and Slovenia.
The tournament draw placed Qatar in Group B, widely regarded as the toughest of the competition, alongside top-ranked and defending champion Poland, as well as the Netherlands and Romania.
The championship is being contested in a group-stage format, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the knockout rounds. The Round of 16 matches will be held from Sept. 20 to 23, followed by the quarterfinals on Sept. 24 and 25. The semifinals are scheduled for Sept. 27, with the medal matches set to take place on Sept. 28. (QNA)
