Qatar Men's National Team Defeats Oman in Gulf Padel Championship Opener in Doha

Doha, September 15 (QNA) - The Qatar 2025 Gulf Padel Championship kicked off Monday with strong competition, organized by the Qatar Tennis, Squash, Padel, and Badminton Federation at the PadelIn Aspire courts. The tournament, which runs until September 19, features the six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.

The Qatar men's team, consisting of Rashid Nawaf, Hassan Wali, Mohammed Saadoun, Meshari Nawaf, Mohammed Al Khanji, and Khalid Saadoun, won their opening match against Oman with a dominant 3-0 victory.

In the first match, the duo of Rashid Nawaf and Hassan Wali defeated Oman's Zakaria Al Sulaimani and Abdullah Al Ghassani with scores of 6-0 and 6-1. In the second match, Mohammed Saadoun and Meshari Nawaf triumphed over Oman's Ali Al Busaidi and Mohammed Al Jafri, winning 6-0, 6-0. In the final match, Khalid Saadoun and Mohammed Al Khanji clinched victory over Oman's Isa Al Sulaimani and Sani Akbar, with scores of 6-1 and 6-1.

In the women's competition, the UAE women's team defeated Qatar 2-1. The Kuwaiti women's team beat Saudi Arabia 3-0, and Bahrain triumphed over Oman with a 3-0 victory.

On Tuesday, the tournament continues with more exciting matches across the men's, women's, and youth categories. In the men's division, Bahrain will face the UAE, Oman will meet Kuwait, and Qatar will play Saudi Arabia. In the women's competition, the opening match will feature Oman vs Saudi Arabia, followed by Qatar vs Kuwait, and Bahrain vs UAE.

In the youth category, Qatar will face UAE, Oman will play Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain will meet Kuwait. (QNA)
