Doha, September 15 (QNA) - HE President Azali Assoumani of the Union of the Comoros, stressed that the Israeli aggression against the State of Qatar does not target it alone, but also targets the security of the Arab and Islamic nation.

In a speech delivered during the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit held in Doha on Monday, His Excellency condemned this heinous attack, stressing that it constitutes a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of the State of Qatar and a blatant breach of international law and the United Nations Charter.

He said that the sovereignty of Arab and Islamic countries is a non-negotiable red line, and what happened in Doha is a clear attempt to contradict the noble role played by the State of Qatar, alongside Egypt and a number of partners, in mediation efforts for Palestine

The Comoros therefore reaffirms its full support for the State of Qatar and considers the protection of mediators a prerequisite for the success of any peace process, he added.

He reiterated his country's firm position in support of the Palestinian people and their legitimate right to establish an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

His Excellency expressed his strong rejection of the policies of demolition, displacement, and crimes against the Palestinian people, calling on the international community to urgently intervene to stop this genocide.

He highly valued the efforts made by the State of Qatar and the Arab Republic of Egypt to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza.

He also supported the outcomes of the United Nations High-Level Conference, co-chaired by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the French Republic, considering the overwhelming majority recommendation of the UN General Assembly in favor of the establishment of a Palestinian state an important step toward achieving justice and consolidating independence.

HE the President concluded his speech by stressing adherence to the sovereignty of Arabic and Islamic states, and the determination to work for a just and lasting peace in Palestine. (QNA)
