Arab League Condemns Israeli Strike on Qatar, Calls International Community to Assume Responsibilities
Cairo, September 10 (QNA) - The Council of the League of Arab States, at the ministerial level, expressed its strong condemnation of the brutal Israeli bombardment of the Qatari capital, Doha, considering it a grave violation of international law and the United Nations Charter, as well as a blatant assault on the sovereignty and security of the State of Qatar.
In a statement issued this evening regarding the Israeli attack on Doha, the Council reaffirmed its absolute rejection and strongest condemnation of this aggression, describing it as a serious violation of the sovereignty of an Arab state, a dangerous escalation, and an unacceptable breach that threatens international peace and security. It warned of the consequences of Israeli escalatory actions that put the region’s security and stability at great risk.
The Council expressed its full solidarity with Qatar, affirming its commitment to ensuring the country’s stability, the safety of its citizens, and the integrity of its territory. It also voiced support for any measures Qatar may take to safeguard its security and sovereignty. The Council further called on the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities by compelling Israel to cease its dangerous escalation in the region, end its ongoing aggressions against regional states, and comply with international law, international humanitarian law, and international legitimacy resolutions.
