Cincinnati (USA), August 09 (QNA) - Poland's tennis player Iga Swiatekآ advanced to the Round of 32 Cincinnati Open 2025 after defeating Australia's Anastasia Potapova in straight sets in the Round of 64 match held Saturday.

World No. 3 Swiatek needed just 1 hour and 13 minutes to seal the win with scores 6-1 and 6-4, setting up a next-round clash with Ukraine's Marta Kostyuk, the tournament's 25th seed, who had defeated Germany's Tatjana Maria 6-0, 6-1 earlier.

Swiatek had twice before reached the Cincinnati semifinals in 2023 and 2024. However, she has yet to make it to the final. (QNA)
