Doha, August 30 (QNA) - Al Gharafa announced on Saturday that Icelandic midfielder Aron Gunnarsson will be sidelined from the first team due to injury.

In a statement, the club said medical tests confirmed Gunnarsson suffered a second-degree strain in his left biceps femoris muscle. He is expected to undergo a rehabilitation period of two to three weeks, with his return dependent on his recovery progress.

Gunnarsson sustained the injury during Al Gharafa's match against Al Sadd last Thursday at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in the third round of the Qatari league.

The Icelandic player joined Al Gharafa at the start of the 2024 2025 season from Al Arabi. (QNA)
