Cairo, August 28 (QNA) - HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population of the Arab Republic of Egypt Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar praised the distinguished level of cooperation between his country and the State of Qatar, as well as their joint coordination and efforts to end the war on the Gaza Strip.

In statements to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the sidelines of the Sixth Session of the Qatari-Egyptian Joint Higher Committee held Thursday, His Excellency affirmed the depth of relations between Egypt and Qatar, noting that these ties date back to a long history of fruitful cooperation and brotherhood.

His Excellency highlighted that this cooperation is regularly crowned by mutual visits between the leaders of both countries, as well as reciprocal visits between the Prime Ministers, considering the formation of the Joint Higher Committee at a high level from both sides as a clear indication of fruitful cooperation across all fields.

In his statements, HE the Egyptian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population explained that there is significant cooperation in the health sector between the two brotherly countries, and that a cooperation protocol is set to be signed at the end of September in Doha.

He pointed out that the protocol focuses on enhancing collaboration in health fields, including the exchange of doctors and expertise, and joint preparedness for any future pandemics.

His Excellency also emphasized that the areas of cooperation between the two countries go beyond distinguished bilateral relations, extending to the Egyptian and Qatari peoples who share historical ties, describing Qatar and Egypt as the balancing force in the Gaza crisis, noting that both countries have witnessed full and extensive coordination since the onset of events on October 7, 2023.

Notably, HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani chaired the Qatari side in the Sixth Session of the Qatari-Egyptian Joint Higher Committee, while the Egyptian side was headed by HE Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates of the Arab Republic of Egypt Dr. Badr Abdelatty.
