Washington, August 27 (QNA) - Google announced a major update to its Translate app, adding new AI-powered features to enhance the language learning experience.

The company explained that the update focuses on conversation skills, launching a new training feature to practice listening and speaking with confidence.

Users select the language they wish to learn, their current level, and their goals. The app then generates customized, realistic scenarios to help them practice listening or speaking, providing hints when needed and tracking users' daily progress.

In parallel, Google added an AI-powered live conversations feature, which enhances the existing conversations seamlessly.

This feature allows real-time conversations with audio and on-screen translations through the Translate app in over 70 languages.

The new feature relies on Gemini's advanced voice and speech recognition models, enabling it to isolate sounds and improve translation quality even in noisy environments like cafes or airports.

Google developed these learning features in collaboration with language acquisition experts and based on the latest technological studies.

The company asserts that these models have helped achieve qualitative leaps in translation quality, multimedia translation, and text-to-speech conversion. (QNA)
