OIC Strongly Condemns Israeli Occupation's Bombing of Nasser Hospital in Gaza Strip
Jeddah, August 26 (QNA) - The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned, in the strongest terms, the Israeli occupation's bombing of the Nasser Hospital in the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the killing of over 20 civilians, mostly health care personnel and media professionals.
This heinous crime is not the first of its kind, rather part of a series of systematic violations by the Israeli occupation against media outlets and hospitals as well as their personnel on the occupied Palestinian territory, in a bid to muzzle the truth and gloss over the crimes of genocide, ethnic cleansing and displacement so as to keep the world public opinion in the dark, OIC stressed in a statement on Tuesday.
The OIC held Israel, the occupation force, fully responsible for this egregious crime, which requires investigation and accountability.
Meanwhile, it called on the concerned international organizations to take immediate actions to put an end to the deliberate and systematic targeting of journalists, media professionals, and healthcare personnel in the occupied Palestinian territory and provide them with protection pursuant to the international humanitarian law and relevant international conventions.
It further reiterated its call on the international community, notably the Security Council, to urgently step in to impose a ceasefire and ensure the delivery of medical, relief, humanitarian, and basic need assistance to the Gaza Strip. (QNA)
