Paris, August 20 (QNA) - French club Paris FC announced on Wednesday the signing of experienced German goalkeeper Kevin Trapp on a contract running through 2028.

In an official statement, the club expressed pride in welcoming Trapp, 35, back to the French capital. The veteran shot-stopper previously played for Paris Saint-Germain between 2015 and 2018, making 91 appearances across all competitions and winning two Ligue 1 titles, the Coupe de France, the Coupe de la Ligue, and five Trophee des Champions (French Super Cups).

Trapp returned to Eintracht Frankfurt in August 2018 on loan before signing a permanent five-year deal worth EUR 7 million. He played a pivotal role in the club's UEFA Europa League triumph in 2022 and helped secure a third-place finish in last season's Bundesliga.

His arrival comes as Paris FC look to strengthen their squad following their return to the top flight. The team suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Angers in their opening match, with 22-year-old Obed Nkambadio in goal.

Paris FC now prepare for a tough second fixture on Saturday against last season's runners-up, Olympique de Marseille. (QNA)
