Doha, August 13 (QNA) - The General Secretariat of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation (AGCFF) has announced the postponement of the start date of the 2025/2026 Gulf Club Champions League to Sep. 30, instead of the previously scheduled date of Sep. 16.

The AGCFF in a statement on its official website Wednesday, attributed the decision to postpone the start date to a request from the tournament's sponsor, due to the limited time available to complete the necessary organizational and technical preparations and arrangements that are intended to ensure the best possible conditions for the tournament's launch in a manner befitting its stature. This decision was made after the Competitions Committee officially approved the postponement.

The AGCFF affirmed its commitment to providing all the necessary technical and organizational elements for success in order to deliver an exceptional edition of the Gulf Club Champions League, which enjoys a wide fan base.

The draw for the League was held a few days ago, and the teams were divided into two groups. The first group included Zakho of Iraq, Al Ain of the UAE, Sitra of Bahrain, and Kuwait's Al Qadisiya. The second group included Al Rayyan of Qatar, Al Shabab of Saudi Arabia, Al Nahda of Oman, and Tadamun of Yemen. (QNA)
