Qatar SCGears Up for Showdown at 40th Arab Handball Championship in Kuwait

Riyadh, August 11 (QNA) - The Arab Handball Federation announced Qatar SC's participation in the 40th Arab Handball Championship of Champions for Men's League and Cup Winners, which will be held in Kuwait from Sept. 12 to 22.

With this participation, Qatar SC joins Al Ahli Club as representatives of Qatari handball in the championship.

The teams confirmed so far have been namely Qatar SC and Al Ahli SC (Qatar), Kuwait SC, Kazma SC, and Al Salibikhaet SC (Kuwait), Al Shabab SC, Al Taliya SC, and Al Nawaeer SC (Syria), in addition to Al-Hashd Al-Shaabi (Iraq) and National Bank of Egypt SC (Egypt).

Kuwait SC claimed the title in the last championship, also held in Kuwait in 2024, after defeating fellow Kuwaiti club Salmiya SC 32–23 in the final.

Meanwhile, Al Gharafa SC (Qatar) snagged third place by outscoring Qadsia SC (Kuwait) 33–26 in the third-place playoff.

Al Rayyan SC of Qatar won the 21st championship, held in Sharjah in 2000.

Al Gharafa SC clinched the title of the 35th championship, held in Amman, Jordan, in 2019, after taking out GS Petroliers of Algeria in the final. (QNA)
