AGCFF Set Aug.11 Date for Draw of 2nd Gulf Club Champions League
Doha, July 30 (QNA) - The Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation (AGCFF) has set Aug.11, 2025, as the date for the draw of the second Gulf Club Champions League 2025–2026.
An official statement on the AGCFF's website revealed that the draw ceremony will be held virtually at 12:00 p.m., Doha time, in accordance with Article Six of the competition's regulations, which define the tournament system and draw mechanism.
In addition, AGCFF has officially invited representatives of the participating clubs, including coaches, administrators, or their delegates, to attend the preparatory meeting ahead of the draw ceremony that will discuss the tournament details and coordinating organizational arrangements.
Qatar Football Association (QFA) had earlier announced the selection of Al Rayyan Club to participate in the tournament, while AGCFF approved the participation of seven other clubs, namely Al Shabab (Saudi Arabia), Al Ain (United Arab Emirates), Al Qadsia (Kuwait), Al Nahda (Oman), Zakho (Iraq), Al Tadhamun Hadramaut (Yemen), and Sitra (Bahrain).
This move is part of AGCFF's commitment to ensuring high standby ahead of the tournament that will take place from Sept.16 to April 14, 2026, with the participation of elite group of Gulf clubs representing the member national associations.
Strikingly, tournament receives an increasing interest by virtue of the success made in the first league, in terms of organization and coaching, thereby placing the upcoming tournament before a fresh challenge to bolster its standing as one of the region's premier club competitions in the Gulf.
Duhok Sports Club of Iraq was crowned champion of the previous edition, after defeating Kuwait's Al Qadsia Sporting Club with a 2–1 scoreline in the second leg of the final.
The match brought the curtain down on the inaugural edition of the tournament, held under the umbrella of AGCFF. (QNA)
