Qatar Wins Gold, Silver in Boys' Doubles at Asian Youth Bowling Championship
Doha, July 29 (QNA) - The Qatari youth bowling team Tuesday secured both the gold and silver medals in the boys' doubles event at the 24th Asian Youth Bowling Championship, currently held at the Qatar Bowling Center and continuing until Aug. 2.
The Qatari duo of Talal Al Marri and Musaad Al Muraikhi claimed the gold medal after finishing first with a total of 2,690 points.
Meanwhile, the pair of Hassan Al Muraikhi and Abdulrahman Al Dosari won the silver medal after securing second place with 2,669 points.
Secretary General of the Qatar Bowling Federation and member of the Asian Bowling Federation Bandar Mubarak Al Shafi crowned the top three winners.
Board Member of the Qatar Bowling Federation Saeed Al Hajri presented the medals to the top three female pairs.
The championship continues on Wednesday with team events featuring four-player squads in both the boys' and girls' categories.
The Secretary General of the Qatar Bowling Federation expressed his delight at Qatar’s success in this edition of the Asian Youth Championship, stating in remarks to Qatar News Agency (QNA) that they are extremely proud of Qatar's champions for securing both gold and silver in the boys' doubles, despite the strong competition, adding that the Qatari team delivered an honorable performance that deserved recognition on the podium.
He stressed that this achievement is the result of extensive preparations prior to the championship, aimed at equipping the team with optimal readiness, hoping the success continues in this continental tournament, reflecting the exceptional capabilities of the Qatari team and their ambition to claim more medals.
Talal Al Marri, member of the Qatari bowling team, expressed immense joy at winning the gold medal alongside teammate Musaad Al Muraikhi.
Al Marri said that the competition has been extremely tough since day one. While the team didn’t succeed in the individual events, as they learned from early mistakes and came back strong in the doubles.
Thankfully, he stressed, they delivered a solid performance and secured gold, aiming for more medals in upcoming events.
Musaad Al Muraikhi also celebrated the achievement, describing the gold medal as a personal milestone, confirming that he is proud to have won his first gold medal in the Asian championships, and hoping to maintain strong performance to help win more medals.
He underlined that hosting the championship in Qatar is a huge motivation for them, adding that they are receiving tremendous support, and winning both gold and silver in the doubles gives them the momentum to achieve even more, highlighting the outstanding talent within Qatar’s youth bowling team.
