Arab League Condemns Genocide in Gaza
New York, July 29 (QNA) - The Arab League condemned Israel’s continued crimes of genocide against civilians, women, and children in the Gaza Strip.
Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit gave a speech at the High-Level International Conference on the Peaceful Settlement of Palestine & the Two-State Solution, which was held at the United Nations headquarters in New York. He said that the crime of genocide was a result of the Israeli occupation and illegal settlement of Palestinian territories.
He also reaffirmed the Arab League’s commitment to the vision of the Arab Peace Initiative, which, after 23 years, has proven that the only path to achieving lasting regional peace and coexistence is by ending the Israeli occupation and settlement of Palestinian territories within the 1967 borders, including East Jerusalem.
The Secretary-General of the Arab League expressed gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and France for their sincere and serious efforts in convening this conference, noting that the overwhelming participation reflects the strength of the international will to end the Israeli occupation and establish a sovereign Palestinian state.
