Gstaad, Switzerland, July 2 (QNA) - The Qatari beach volleyball team, consisting of Cherif Younness and Ahmed Tijan, defeated their Portuguese counterparts, Joao Pedrosa and Hugo Campos, 2-1 in their first match of the Gstaad World Tour in Switzerland, part of the Elite 16 World Tour.
The victory came after an exciting match that ended in favor of the Qatari team in two sets (21-18, 23-25, 15-11).
The Qatari team are participating in the current tournament in Group C, where they will face the Norwegian duo of Henrik Nicolai Mol and Matthias Berntsen in their second match on Thursday.
The group also includes the Austrian duo of Christoph Dressler and Philipp Waller. (QNA)
