Baghdad, July 17 (QNA) - Some 50 people were killed early Thursday when a fire broke out at a shopping center in the city of Al-Kut, south of Baghdad.
The Iraqi News Agency (INA) reported that the massive blaze claimed the lives of 50 individuals, including children, men, and women, while others were injured and significant material damage was sustained.
According to Iraqi authorities, civil defense teams managed to bring the fire under control and extinguish it. An investigation has been launched into the cause of the blaze, with preliminary findings expected within 48 hours. (QNA)
